Welcome to my Virtual interview page.  Hopefully my answers to these commonly asked questions will help you get a better sense of who I am, what I stand for, and what my skills can do for your company.

Tell me a bit about yourself.

I am 38 years old and have loved in Portland about 2 years. I love Portland and plan to make it my home for as long as possible. My hobbies are reading, enjoying the crisp Portland air, and playing with my dog Wakka.

What do you consider are your strengths and weaknesses?

I am a people person and a go getter, I like to make sure each client knows I am listening to them and able to resolve their conflict. I am meticulous about my work and not afraid to make suggestions to make my work flow smoother.  I really don't believe in weaknesses. There are always ways to make things better.  I would say that I need to work on my skill set and to work on not being so hard on myself when it comes to things that go wrong.

Describe a situation that involved conflict and what you did to resolve it.

There was a situation where a gentleman had a heart attack and had to be rushed to a hospital where his insurance was not taken. The insurance company refused to pay for the man's treatment there. I took it upon myself to go through the appeals process personally and eventually got the insurance company to pay 75% of the cost of treatment.

Describe a conflict with a co worker and what you did to resolve it.

There was a co worker that sat beside me and would often get very loud and rude on the phone with clients. I first talked with the co-worker and tried to resolve it that way. When that did not work I went to the supervisor and we had a meeting with the co worker and were able to resolve it at that time.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

I plan to go to night school to become a vetrinary technician so hopefully I will be on my way to that in 5 years.

Your resume has you working for a while at Austin Diagnostic Clinic and then it seems to jump around a bit. Can you explain that and explain why you left your last employer?

I have a lot of customer service experience  but I did make some wrong choices and mistakes in my employers. I left my last employer because of a personal medical issue that's now resolved.

What are you looking for in an employer?

I am looking for a stable, long term, full time employer. I want to work in a place that is fast paced and makes my day busy.  An employer that trusts their employees and makes it possible to grow and learn in the job.  I like working as part of a team but can also work without supervision.  I want to be able to have some client interaction in the job. And finally, a place where I can utilize my skills and learn more to expand my skill base.

What would you say are the most important skills when dealing with the public?

I think patience is the key in working with clients. They may be frustrated, not feeling well, irritated and I think being patient and listening to their problems can reslove any conflict within a short time.
Helping clients with their issues is like a present for me. It makes me feel good.
